updateFB.exe tool - Problem with Free / Busy information after Exchange 2007 Installation
Reference to the solution to the Free / Busy information that is not displaying -
a number of forums pointed to an article
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/294282, within this article there is mention of an updatefb.exe tool that would resolved the problem but it doesn’t seem that anyone could provide me with
it. Although some of the forums suggest an incident should be raised with Microsoft who would provide me “free” with the tool. At this stage I’m struggling to raise an incident.
Is there someone who could provide me with the tool?

Environment: Exchange 2007 SP1
My problem is that I noticed on some of the users the free/busy information doesn’t show it just comes up as "no-info", but when I use "Outlook Web" all information is showing for all the users?
I came across a number of forums which points to the following article...
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/294282
so I hoped by using this tool it would resolve my problem!
I'm no expert on exchange so I’m desperate to get this issue resolved.

Run this command on the client machine, outlook /cleanfreebusy
Make sure Outlook is in Online mode when you run this command.Gulab Prasad,

Gulab,
I tried this and didn't see any difference, from the one PC I’m able to see for instance our “boardroom” free busy info but not from another PC.
I also took a new PC installed Office setup a few “mailboxes” no luck. Also used the outlook /cleanfreebusy command still not!
Won’t this “updatefb.exe tool” assist to identify the issue?

What updateFB tool will do?
It will send a Test Meeting request to all the mailboxes, (We use to call it
a wake up call to FreeBusy information for all user mailboxes).
But those meetings won't be visible to the users. Once you ran the tool successfully, try to check the issue, it should be working fine.Gulab Prasad,

I typically see this problem when there's something wrong in DNS or autodiscover.
Have you checked to make sure autodiscover is setup correctly?

This isn't necessarily bad. I forgot to mention that it should not be run from a CAS server.
When I run that on mine, I get the same failures, but when I run from a mailbox server all tests pass.
Are you running Test-OutlookWebServices from one of your CAS servers?

Might be a stupid question how long does it normal take to update from the client’s side the free/busy info?
I have created 2x dummy users to test the free/busy info, for these 2 users it doesn’t reflect as well!
I'm starting think it might be to do with the user account or the mailbox?

It shouldn't take much time...
Send a test meeting request to them and accept it and than check there FB. Gulab Prasad,

What's the result if you run from a non-CAS server?
Do you have more than one CAS?

Seems something is happening, I’m able to see the one mailbox’s free/busy info. Will be doing some more test on it.

Finally managed to get the problem resolved, uninstalled Exchange completely and re-installed Exchange and at least the free/busy is working.
